Hi there everyone. After what can only be summarized as an exceptionally brutal February here in Calgary and Western Canada for that matter, Spring is almost here.
At last I see birds returning, trees with buds ready to burst to life and warm weather. I can hardly wait to get out shooting again without freezing the camera and some some body parts. Over the winter I have started to digitize some of my positives (slides) and negatives as I was a film shooter for many many years. I am using the the Nikon ES-2 Film Digitizing Adapter and a Nikkor 60mm f2.8 Macro lens which I purchased from Calgary’s premier camera store (The Camera Store). The Nikon D850 has a handy setting for completing the digitization process effortlessly. The more I digitize the slides and negatives (I literally have thousands), the more I really like my Nikon D850! So far I have digitized about 300 slides and haven’t even looked at or started on my collection of negatives.
I have added a sampling of some of the newly digitized images to the Landscape, Birds, Macro and Food galleries. I have included a digitized image of a slide of some apple blossoms I took several years ago. I really hope that you enjoy looking at them in the galleries I mentioned above. If you think I should write a blog on this process let please Contact me and let me know.
Happy Shooting,
Stan
